While barrel finishes are more popular in the whiskey world, they are beginning to become more popular with tequilas as well, and this tequila is a great example of a successful barrel-finished tequila.
TASTE: The entry for this tequila leads with an interesting black pepper, agave and vanilla flavor before the agave moves to the forefront. There is a decided pepperiness that is rounded out and complemented by the port wine notes. It finishes with oak, more agave, and menthol before a light mint note is all that remains on the palate.
BARREL: 11 months in American white oak and then port casks from the Douro Valley in Portugal
ENJOY: A special sipping tequila
