This release from Mezcalosfera de Mezcaloteca is an ensemble of 4 agaves (Madrecuixe, Bicuixe, Coyote and Espadin ) and is the product of master distiller Felipe de Jesus Cortes. Whilst classified as an "agave distillate" for the local market, it has been certified Mezcal for export. As you will read below, this release was for Australia only and is extremely limited. Don't miss out on this one.
Mezcalosfera de Mezcaloteca is the exported bottling from Mezcaloteca, the famous bar in Oaxaca City that is renowned for their educational tastings. Mezcalosfera is an independent project in which any Maestro Mezcaleros (master distiller) is able to use Mezcalosfera's palenque (distillery) to produce a batch of Mezcal, using their own agaves. The agave are usually from producers in seldom-travelled parts of Oaxaca that are often hard to get to. They put an exceptional amount of information on their labels, and all of their releases are very small batches that exhibit the most unique characteristics of mezcal.
Each batch of Mezcal produced at this palenque is then purchased at fair prices and bottled to be exported to 1 country only, making these bottles very unique and valuable to Mezcal connoisseurs around the world.
Due to the limited nature of this bottle, no tasting notes are currently available.
