Laying claim to the highest modern distillery in the world, La Estacada sits at 7,200 feet above sea level. It is here that the Herrara family produce their exquisit sipping tequila Tierra Noble. La Estacada is located just outside the equisite town of Mazamitla in Jaliso Mexico.
Two unique aspects of Tierra Noble which make it the perfect tequila are at these high altitudes, the air is cool and crisp which causes a much slower fermentation resulting in a musto with well developed flavours (using exclusively Montpelier wine yeast) and a secondary fermentation, usually only scene in chardonnay production, which produces beautiful buttery notes in the final product.
The emblem of the house is born from the tradition that the tequila maestros have of selecting only those barrels that have developed the most subtle and elegant notes. Over time the exquisite blend of these extra-añejos aging up to 85 months would become what is today the Selection of the Founder.
TASTE: Soft on the palate, balanced and complex, with bitter chocolate flavours, nuts and red fruits, a light to tobacco and spices; of great persistence on the palate.
BARREL: Multiple Barrels
ENJOY: As a premium sipping tequila
