Alquimia organic anejo tequila is the result of a lifetime of dedication and hard work by the now famous Dr. Adolfo Murillo. This USDA certified organic anejo is aged for just under 3 years in white oak barrels. The oak wood gives the tequila a distinctive flavour and golden amber colour.
Alquimia anejo tequila is 100% agave with no nasty additives or manipulation and is the only known certified 100% organic tequila in Australia. Everyone told Adolfo that he could not plant agave on his family’s ranch in Agua Negra, which is precisely why he did. In 1992, Adolfo conducted extensive soil tests and realised that with organic methods, it could be done. He combined the modern science he learned in the U.S. with the traditional agricultural methods employed by his grandfather in Mexico to produce an organic protocol that would change the small town forever.

Not only are the production methods used by Murillo sustainable and environmentally friendly, but he has also trained hundreds of farmers across Mexico in his organic methods to promote sustainable agriculture in a variety of industries. This remains a core part of his mission.
AROMA: A distinctive mix of cherries, berries and oak. Cooked agave and caramel.
TASTE: The aroma pleasingly follows through to the palate. Flavours of caramel, fruit, mild vanilla and spice, it has a pleasant finish with moderate notes of agave, earth, and
floral tones. A long duration of flavour makes this tequila ideal for sipping.
