Los Azulejos Skelly Anejo Gold Edition Tequila (750ml / 40%)
Made at Destiladora del Valle de Tequila- NOM 1438 in the lowlands (El Valle) region of Tequila, Jalisco. The distillery is known as “Casa Maestri” and is one of the most productive. Pedro Quintanilla, the founder of Los Azulejos, is a Tequila connoisseur. His grand father was a prominent grower of Blue Agave and owned a Hacienda in the state of Jalisco where he produced an exquisite tequila for his family, friends and workers but he never commercialized it. Decades later, Pedro, aware of the notorious development of Tequila and it's demand around the world, was convinced his grandfather's recipe could go even further, and Tequila los Azulejos was born.
An ode to “day of the dead”, these hand made ceramic bottles are surely one for the top shelf (exact detail might vary). Rest assured, it's not only the bottles that will have your friends talking. Los Azulejos Skeleto Anejo is a great sipping tequila all the same. 40% alc.vol
AROMA: Bouquet is more restrained than its younger siblings sort of a salt and toffee smell with Provence herbs. The oak adds a vanilla overlay with lemon.
TASTE: Oak/vanilla wrestles with the brine/pepper notes for your attention, then the buttery leather notes start to wash through. Touches of lemon verbena / lemon balm. Long lingering finish.
BARREL: Aged between 18 months in French oak
ENJOY: Sipping
