Stocking the best 100% agave tequilas is not easy in Australia but we are thrilled to present Pasote Extra Anejo, the brainchild of the legendary Felipe Camarena. Felipe has long been regarded as the mad scientist of sustainable tequila and wow he has excelled himself. Everything at his El Pandillo distillery serves an earth friendly purpose with the results being near perfect tequila every time.
The stand out feature of his Los Altos based distillery is its ability to capture and use rain water. Pasote tequila uses 40% rainwater and 60% spring water. The effect on taste is evident and contributes significantly to the uniqueness and success of this range. The agaves are also sourced from one of Felipes fields in the highlands of Jesus Maria.
The Camarena family are renown for their amazing bottles of tequila which include some of the best brands in the world like G4, Ocho, Tapatio and El Tesoro.
TASTE: Having spent forty-eight months in ex-bourbon barrels, the palate is complex and well-balanced. Exotic flavours of honey and caramelised pineapple arouse the senses. Vegetal notes of roasted agave complement warming spices and toasty oak nuances. Bright, tingling szechuan spices linger at the front of the palate before a long, sumptuous finish follows to the back of the palate.
BARREL: 48 months in used bourbon barrels stored in underground caves.
